✦ Where It All Began
Hand-drawn between high school classes. One episode per year. Nobody knew what it would become.
✦ The Real Story
Long before Elixir, there was Exile — a hand-drawn fantasy epic created by a fifteen-year-old with a dream he couldn't set down. Starting in 2005, every episode was animated between high school classes and across late nights that probably should have been sleep. Each one took nearly a year to finish.
That teenager grew up. The story came with him. Exile became Elixir — and what you're watching in Origins is a loving reconstruction: the original animations woven together with new scenes, new renders, new voice work, and all-new sound design. A tribute to where the story started, and a bridge to where it's going.
Season 1 is in production now — ten episodes that fill in what Origins only had time to tease.
✦ Episode 01

✦ The Original Exile

How We Build It
✦ Planet Elarion · Continent of Ethos
Elarion is a world shaped by a question no one remembers asking: what happens when a source of limitless energy falls into a civilization that isn't ready for it? On the continent of Ethos, two great kingdoms have built their answers. They don't agree.
✦ The Continent of Ethos
Ossic and Feron have shared the continent for over a thousand years.
They have not shared much else.
✦ The Energy Source
A glowing blue mineral found throughout the bedrock of Ethos. Crystarium is why Ossic's city lights never go out, why the Royal Guard's hoverlancers can fly, and why every kingdom on the continent has spent the last thousand years fighting over the same mountain ranges.
In its raw state it pulses with a living frequency — unpredictable, beautiful, and nothing like what the engineers eventually turned it into. Ossic refined it into a fuel source. Feron developed an entirely different relationship with it. That disagreement is older than the war.
There is more to Crystarium than either kingdom understands. That part comes later.
✦ A World to Explore
✦ The Pattern Beneath the Story
Ossic runs on particle technology — refined, mechanical, controlled. Feron runs on Wave Magic — resonant, living, relational. That division maps onto the same tension within the wave-particle duality, as well as the left-brain logic and right-brain intuition; it is a current that runs through every human civilization. Control and connection: neither complete without the other.
Crystarium — the mineral that powers the entire continent — contains within it a frequency that neither nation fully understands. If Ossic and Feron are the left and right brain respectively, then Crystarium is the Pineal Gland: the thing both sides are trying to harness, and neither has learned to fully understand.

Ten episodes. Two years in the making. Eric Helm's story from cadet to something neither kingdom has a name for yet.
✦ What It's About
Eric Helm has just been accepted into the elite Dragon Program at the Ossic Academy — the most selective cadets in the Kingdom. He arrives carrying a family ring engraved with a symbol no one can identify, and a lifetime of wanting to follow in his father Victor's footsteps.
Orientation, training, first flight — and then the slow discovery that the city beneath them has fractures nobody has named yet.

✦ Beyond the Screen
The Elixir Saga is bigger than any single format. Here is where the rest of it lives.
✦ In Active Production
The story of Elarion is too large for one screen. These are the other places it's being told — each one a different way in.
✦ The Longer View
The three projects above are the ones actively in production. But the world doesn't stop there. The long dream for Elixir includes video games — stories set in Elarion's history that players can move through themselves, making choices that matter inside a world we've spent years building.
One thing at a time. But the map is drawn.

✦ Behind the Saga
From hand-drawn panels to AI-assisted animation — an honest look at the journey of making an animated series from scratch.
✦ Where It Started
Elixir began as a hand-animated series produced in Adobe Animate. The first episode was originally sketched on paper and imported — every frame drawn by hand. Below are scenes from those original Exile animations.
✦ The Shift
For a long time, Elixir was being produced by one artist, with one friend volunteering to support on script editing. In the past year we've had two artists working on it — and the progress has been slow. Even with a million-dollar budget and a team of 100 animators, TV shows can take months for a single episode. We began using AI for storyboarding and backgrounds to help expedite the process — something you've already seen in the Origins series. Soon we discovered other ways AI could support production, and things started to speed up.
✦ Right Now
Our team has been in deep conversation about the role of AI in production. The honest truth is that with where AI animation is right now, we could tell the full story of Elixir in a fraction of the time — and deliver something that genuinely looks cinematic. But we have also spent two years hand-drawing and hand-animating everything. That work means something to us. It's where the world came from — and it's hard to let it go.
At the rate of traditional animation, the full story would take many years to tell. Today, for ease of production and to be able to publish this in short order, we are considering fully animating the series with AI — or at least blending into it after the scenes already produced for Season 1. A big reason for this is simple: we want the story to exist in the world while we're still young enough to enjoy it.
✦ The Goal
A fully animated series. Real episodes. Real music. A world that feels as alive as the original animations made nearly 20 years ago.
Yet to shift to AI is not a simple choice, because we love the hand-drawn work deeply. There's a soul to it that's hard to describe. But we'd be lying if we said the animation tests below didn't stop us in our tracks. See for yourself.
✦ Beyond the Series
The animated series is one piece of something larger. Alongside it: a novel, a graphic novel, and ShatterCore — our trading card game set in the world of Ethos. All three are in active production, along with the animated series.
